Wormies International, Peru style

Peru is now home to two Wormies! That is, unless someone in Peru is also in the Wormy-making business and I was unaware of it.

Over the summer, a little Wiggle traveled its way to Peru to my sisterโ€™s boyfriend, a soccer goalie for the professional Peruvian team, FBC Melgar (you can check them out here). Since this summer was the World Cup, there was a lot of options for soccer fabric, and the black and red colors of Melgar were the perfect complement to these fabrics. I was even able to embroider the jersey number on his tail! Take a look and let me know what you think.

And if you are reading this and are on Melgar, 1. I am amazed that you are reading this, and 2. I can make YOU your own personalized Melgar team Wormy! Wormies by jana: sponsored by FBC Melgar. That has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? ๐Ÿ˜‰IMG_7290 IMG_7284 IMG_7285

Bright Baby Nora

Meet the Wormy for baby Nora!

Nora’s Wormy was focused around bright colors. I love it when I am able to incorporate fabric from my grandmother’s stash, and Nora’s Wormy provided that opportunity. The bright floral fabric from Grandma tied in all of the greens, pinks, and yellows, creating a sweet and colorful Wormy. I decided to go with both bright and soft colors with complementing quieter patterns that would not distract the eye and still make Wormy look “baby.” From my biased opinion (always), I think it turned out great, but that is for you all to decide.

Alice in Forest-land

Meet the newest Wormy for Baby Alice!

After making Wormies for a long while, I start to notice new trends and themes in baby nurseries and the fabric that shows up in the fabric store. As you may have guessed, one of the themes that has started to emerge is Forest Animals with earthy tones and prints. I love the overall softness of this theme and the colors and patterns that can go along with it. This Wormy for Alice was centered around deer and forest animals while also using brighter pinks and and softer greens. The soft and bright color contrast for this Wormy combined perfectly to enhance the soft and deep forest fabrics that I used.

Plaid Magnum

Meet the Wormy for Mr. Magnum Wade!

Sometimes I get a lot of freedom when I create a Wormy, as was the case with this one. My only instructions this time around were “flannel/plaid.” A lot of creative freedom is both good and bad for me. On one hand, I get to make something almost completely how I want, but on the other hand, the overwhelming amount of options can stress me out. Magnum’s Wormy leaned more towards the excitement side because I was able to find some great color-coordinated flannel plaid to base his Wormy off of. And maybe I wanted to subtly influence him to go to Cal State Fullerton. Time will tell!

Aloha, Luhi!

Meet the Wormy for little Luhi!

To go with his Hawaiian roots, Luhi got a Hawaiian-themed Wormy with turtles, bright colors, and patterns.ย  I found the perfect mosaic turtle fabric that matched with other bright greens, yellows, and blues in other patterns that I had.ย  Luhi’s Wormy is so perfectly bright and cheerful that one look at it will surely make his little self smile.ย  I can tell that Luhi loves his Wormy already.

Baseball Boy

Check out the Wormy for baby Jeremiah!

If you could not guess, the theme for this little guy was baseball, while also incorporating some navy blue, red, and gray.ย  I was able to find the perfect baseball fabrics that just so happened to have background colors of navy and red!ย  I definitely hit a home run with that one.ย  Pun intended ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  Anyway, since the baseball fabric had the loud print, I was able to go with easy and simple patterns on the other colors to help complement the baseballs.ย  Overall, I think that the colors and patterns went perfectly together, and I am very happy at how it turned out.ย  Any guesses on which team baby Jeremiah will grow up to be a fan of?

Sweet Scarlett

A month or two ago, I had the privilege of being featured on my friends’ blog.ย  If you missed it, you can check it out here or here.ย  The winner of the giveaway ordered this Wormy for baby Scarlett; check it out!

Scarlett’s Wormy had an Owl theme with pinks and greens.ย  Luckily, JoAnn Fabrics came in clutch with some great green fabric that had cute owls all over it!ย  Have I mentioned how much I love JoAnn?ย  I think I mention it every post.ย  I digress…

I used the owl fabric to base my other colors and patterns off of, and tried to pick fabrics that looked more forest-y (is that even a word or did I make that up?), while continuing with the pink and green theme.ย  Check it out and as always, let me know what you think!
